He didn’t have to go so hard on this album. But he did anyway. I think this is wonderful.
Meet Me in the Hallway: This song is so good and needs to get more attention. The guitar is haunting. His vocals are unbelievable. What an opening. It makes me feel depressed, but not too depressed. I really appreciate this song. This song takes me back to our 8th grade field trip to DC and I was really riding high during that time. I wish this song was 10 minutes long.
Sign of the Times: Will there ever be a more iconic song? I really don’t think so. This song transformed America and other countries too probably. It sounds like it could be from the 70s or 80s, but also it’s modern. How did Harry do it? It’s such a beautiful and dramatic song. He really went off.
Carolina: I don’t know why I’m so shocked that this song is track 3. I’ve always pictured it lower. This song is fun. Not my favorite, but I like the lyrics. Very jealous of this girl he met once and wrote a song about. She’s so powerful.
Two Ghosts: What a beautiful song. Takes me back to 8th grade on the boat when me and Moos listened to it on repeat while Damon played a salon game on her phone. I think this song has a lot of potential, but it falls a little short for me. When I’m sad I really vibe with it, though.
Sweet Creature: This song let me down. I was ready for a cute love song from Mr. Styles, but I ended up not liking this song very much. The verses are very promising, but I really don’t like the chorus. I think it’s awkward sounding, his voice is boring, and it’s very repetitive. I would like to be called a creature, though.
Only Angel: This song has such an angelic intro, which makes sense given the title of the track. And also the way it ties into Sign of the Times. They’re cousins I think. I really like this song. It’s so much fun and also sexy go off.
Kiwi: This song is so iconic. It’s so good. I really can’t say much more than that, it’s just so good. It’s so much fun.
Ever Since New York: Another slept on song. I like it. It’s not a top tier track for me, but I appreciate it and the chorus is pretty dope. It’s a chill song.
Woman: The vibe of this song! You just can’t compete. The instrumentation is what really gets me. The beginning of this song is so dope. The ending is a little less cool. He could’ve really done something, but he didn’t. It’s fine. I forgive him.
From the Dining Table: This song makes me sad. It’s supposed to. It’s so simple, but the lyrics really get you. And then towards the end when the guitar picks up. Harry sounds so good. It does it’s job as a closer, but why’d he have to end on such a sad note. :(
Final Ranking:
Meet Me in the Hallway
Sign of the Times
Kiwi
From the Dining Table
Only Angel
Two Ghosts
Ever Since New York
Carolina
Woman
Sweet Creature
There are some really iconic songs on this album. I’m happy about it. It gets a 7.7/10 from me. bye
