This used to be my favorite Taylor Swift album until folklore came out. It’s country, but I still like it. It’s so good. And I believe she wrote it all by herself. Very iconic. I’ve actually never listened to the deluxe version so I’m excited. Let’s get into it.
Mine: This song is so classic. It’s so cute. It’s so happy. It makes me so happy. It takes me back to such a happy place. The lyrics make such a vivid story. It’s like a movie. This song is so powerful.
Sparks Fly: This song would play all the time in seventh grade gym class. I also sang my heart out to this song at Emma’s house and I think some were surprised I knew this song so well. I have always loved this song. It’s so good.
Back to December: This song is so sad. She’s just now realizing she loved him after she drove him away. It’s about Taylor Lautner. It’s weird that they had the same name. Also she talks about when Kanye embarrassed her. Crazy. This song went to bridge city.
Speak Now: I love this song. I wish it had a music video. It’s so funny to me. Taylor breaking up a wedding. That’s so classic. I like that she made this song. It’s a choice and she made it. Her voice is really pretty in this song.
Dear John: This is one of my most favorite Taylor songs. It’s so good. The lyrics are so genius and detailed. It’s really sad. She really came for John Mayer. I wish this song was 10 minutes long, I would listen to the whole thing.
Mean: This song is very much a country song. She went all in. She has the right. This song is amazing. So iconic. You can’t not like this song. I love the bridge in this song. She did not hold back.
The Story of Us: I always forget about this song. It’s so clever. The way she says “next chapter.” Because it’s a story!! This song is super catchy. I love it.
Never Grow Up: Wow. This song makes me cry every time. The lyrics cut so deep. It makes me so afraid but also hopeful. The part about her mom dropping her off at the movies and how she’s getting older too. Water works, man. Also “memorize how it sounds when your dad gets home from work.” or whatever. We really are living the same lives.
Enchanted: The most beautiful song to ever exist. This song makes me want to fall in love so bad. I love the dramatics of this song. The “please don't be in love with someone else.” I feel like I’m in a movie. Also her pacing back and forth. I can listen to this song on repeat for the rest of my life. It is so beautiful. I can’t believe she accomplished this. I am so impressed. I stay being impressed.
Better Than Revenge: I get that this song is a little sexist, but it’s iconic. The lyrics are so fun. I don’t know who it is about. I could look it up but I don’t really feel like it. Seriously, this song is so good.
Innocent: This song sounds so genuine. It’s really comforting and sad. And for it all to be about Kanye. I can’t believe it. I cannot. It sounds so genuine man. And knowing that it’s about Kanye you can only hear it in a condescending way. She’s so powerful. This song is actually beautiful.
Haunted: Young me would go crazy to this song. And rightfully so. This song is amazing. The intro music is so dramatic. You know you’re in for it. This song deserves more credit. Taylor sounds so good in it. One of my favorites.
Last Kiss: I love this song. It’s so sad man. The lyrics are so depressing. How she’s reflecting on all the good times, and then she goes into that chorus saying she doesn’t know how to be something she misses. That is so sad, man. I love this song.
Long Live: There is something to be said about the energy this song exudes. It gives you goosebumps. It just makes me feel really proud of Taylor. You can feel her emotions. Also looking back at this song after everything she’s gone through after it. Emotional.
Ours: This is the cutest song. I like it a lot. It’s pretty simple, but it gets the job done. I appreciate it
If This Was a Movie: Her voice was very pretty in this song. I can understand why this is a bonus track. It’s a fine song, but it’s not on the level of these other songs.
Superman: She is out here professing her love. I wasn’t feeling this song at first but it’s too cute. She went off. Good song.
