Lover by Taylor Swift Review

Hi I remember being so excited for this to come out. It’s so happy and pink.

I Forgot That You Existed: This song is cute. It’s not my favorite, but I don’t mind it. It’s fun. I like the giggles. I like that it’s about Calvin Harris because he complained that she never wrote a song about him.

Cruel Summer: This song goes so hard. I don’t know who she thinks she is putting a song like this out because this song blows my mind. It’s so good. Her vocals are amazing. I love the story line. And what an iconic bridge. HE LOOKS UP GRINNING LIKE A DEVIL.

Lover: This song is so cute. I’m a sucker for a romantic song. This is an Ed Sheeran song except Taylor Swift wrote it and sang it. You know what I mean, though. I like the little details she throws in there. I’m so glad she’s happy.

The Man: The production on this song is great. And she sounds just fine on it. I just don't think it’s anything special. It seems like everyone is making this kind of song. We all pretty much know that Taylor is a feminist, she didn’t need to make a mediocre song about it.

The Archer: This song is surprising. People didn’t like it. Neither did I at first. But it builds, man. And the lyrics are top notch. I really like this song. It’s kind of sad.

I Think He Knows: This song is so much fun. I wish the chorus went a little harder, but otherwise I can’t complain. The verses are so fun. It makes me so happy. The choruses get better as the song continues, but the first one is a little lame.

Miss Americana & The Heartbreak Prince: This song is interesting. It’s very complex and there’s a lot to unpack. I really like it. I love the cheerleader allusions all throughout the song, even the repetition of lyrics. It’s really cool.

Paper Rings: I love this song so much. It has some punk influence and wow I love it. The lyrics are so cute how could you not love it. It’s such a cute song I can’t.

Cornelia Street: This song is bittersweet. She’s singing about how much she loves him, but she’s also thinking about how awful it would be if they broke up, which is a sad thought. I hope they never break up because they’re so cute together.

Death By A Thousand Cuts: This song is weird. Especially since she wrote it about a movie she watched. Idk I just think it doesn’t fit in well with the album. I like how the song sounds though. It’s really catchy and the lyrics are clever. I just wish it was more personal.

London Boy: People are split on this song. They throw it into the ME! And YNTCD category and I just disagree. I think this song is so fun and cute. She’s just singing about her London Boy. Let her live.

Soon You'll Get Better: This song really gets me. It’s so sad. But the lyrics of this song are so relatable and sad. If you’ve ever gone through anything remotely like her situation this song really fits. The bridge gets me really sad, “I hate to make this all about me, but who am I supposed to talk to?”

False God: I love this song. Why is it so jazzy? I love it. I’m such a sucker for jazz influence. She sounds so cool in this song.

You Need To Calm Down: This song is not for me. It’s slightly better than ME! But not by much. It is trying too hard to be woke. If she would’ve stuck to feminism in this song it might’ve been better, but she tries to touch upon too many world issues and it comes off as really ingenuine. It’s a fun sounding song, but I almost always skip.

Afterglow: I love this song. First of all, the meaning is interesting. She’s admitting she overreacted and taking the blame. But at the bridge she’s like dude just forgive me, and I think that’s so funny. The chorus to this song goes hard. I can’t not sing along.

ME!: This song was so good until we hit that chorus. I get that it’s for kids, but still. It’s not for me. I don’t like it. It makes me upset.

It's Nice To Have A Friend: This song is so weird. I love it. The creepy child choir or whatever is really interesting. The lyrics are really cute, but the way she sings it sounds really lonely. And the bridge is just a trumpet. So weird.

Daylight: I think this song does a really good job closing the album. It really sums up what she’s been singing about and also everything in her life that has led up to her current relationship. It’s really cute and personal. Too bad the song is boring sounding. It’s really not an interesting sounding song, but I’m giving it credit for the lyrics. Also her little speaking part at the end of the song is interesting and calls back to the Red era, which I appreciate.
