1989 by Taylor Swift Review

Updated: May 31, 2022

This is the iconic 1989 album. Album of the Year. I know most of these songs. I love Miss Taylor. I think she’s pretty great. This album really changed the game, you cannot deny it. Let’s get into it.

Welcome To New York: I would probably like this song more if I lived in New York. I really like the vibe of it. It sounds really refreshing. The lyrics are pretty lame, though, and overall this song isn’t very special. I don’t hate it, but I would never choose to put it on. It’s pretty average.

Blank Space: This song is iconic. Plus the music video. Nothing could ever top that. I love this song so much. I love how she’s poking fun at the stories people would make up about her. Go off Taylor. This song grabbed every pre teen girl by the neck. I don’t know what that means exactly but it makes sense.

Style: Another icon. This song is sexy. And it’s about Harry so interesting. I love the visuals this song evokes in my mind. She uses very descriptive words. This song is timeless.

Out of the Woods: This song was slept on. It's iconic. Her and Jack Antonoff really went off. The lyrics are so detailed, and again, it’s about Harry Styles, so I’m interested. Obviously. I think the issue with this song is that the chorus is pretty repetitive and somewhat long. But I really don’t mind. The bridge is so amazing. How could you not love?

All You Had To Do Was Stay: This is a pretty fun song. I’m not a fan of how she sings “stay” in this song. It’s kind of scary. Besides that this is a pretty solid pop song.

Shake It Off: I can’t even lie I love this song. I got sick of it, but I never hated it. And it’s so catchy. And this song is so iconic. Pop Taylor really came out and introduced herself with this song. I miss this time of my life.

I Wish You Would: Taylor wrote this all by herself. I love how fast the tempo of this song is. It’s very chaotic but it works. This song goes on longer than you expect, but I’m not mad at it.

Bad Blood: This song isn’t the best. The chorus gets really tiring. I actually really like the verses and the pre chorus, but the chorus is too much.

Wildest Dreams: I love this song. I always forget how much I love it until I listen to it. Then I remember. Her voice is so pretty in this song. I also am a huge fan of the music video and I always think of it when the song comes on, so that’s another reason why I love it so much.

How You Get the Girl: I can’t believe this song exists. I don’t know why I can’t really wrap my mind around it, but I can’t. I just feel like it’s not real. I like it a lot. I just can’t ever comprehend it’s existence. There’s no good explanation for these feelings. I’m sorry.

This Love: I feel bad for not liking this song, but I don’t. It’s boring. I don’t think it’s that impressive either.

I Know Places: This song is good. I love the metaphors throughout the song. It’s very interesting. I think her vocals are really good too. I decided I really like this song. I could really dance to this.

Clean: This song just goes over my head every time. I like it. It’s very pretty and sounds very personal. But all the metaphors are lost on me and I don’t know what’s going on.

Wonderland: This song kind of sounds like a Disney song. That’s my only issue with it. I love Alice in Wonderland, and I love songs that reference it. I think she’s really clever with the lyrics. It’s actually a really good break up song. It’s meaning does get a little lost when it’s mixed with all the references, but still a good song.

You Are In Love: I’m not into this song sonically. But the lyrics are way too cute to not like. That’s all.

New Romantics: This song is so good. It was released as a single and was done so dirty. This is one of the best songs off this record, if not the best. It’s so good. Her voice is great. I can’t.

There are just so many good songs on this record. An unbelievable amount. It’s a very strong pop record. It gets a score of 7.97/10. There are only two songs on this album I don't like at all and that’s pretty good. New Romantics slaps. Can’t deny. bye
