This album shaped me a lot. It came during an important time of my life. I also saw this concert and met her. You wish you were me.
Love You Like a Love Song: This is such a classic song. You’ve gotta love it. It’s catchy, it’s fun, it’s clever. The music video is very important. Nothing is wrong with this song. She’s perfect.
Bang Bang Bang: This one’s a little sassy. It’s super fun and catchy, though. She kind of sounds like a baddie and honestly go Selena. I’m happy for her.
Who Says: This is another classic. It’s really positive, but I don’t even mind. She sounds so pretty and happy. You can’t hate it.
We Own the Night: Slept on. Miss Pixie does a lot for this song. Thankful for her. This song is really cute and happy. Makes me smile.
Hit the Lights: I cried when I first heard this song because she said “damn.” I was so upset. I was listening to it on my iPod Shuffle and burst into tears. I was sick to my stomach. I just didn’t know what to do. It was a good song too. It’s not my favorite single. Mainly because the production is kind of basic, but the verses are really good.
Whiplash: This song is so cool. When I first heard it was a Britney Spears reject it made so much sense. Selena did wonderful with it. It’s very interesting and fun. Also she said “damn” again, but I was less shocked.
When the Sun Goes Down: Title track! Very underrated. It’s a fun party song. Nothing super deep, but there’s nothing wrong with it. I actually sing parts of it a lot and don’t even realize it.
My Dilemma: This is one of the best songs off the album. It’s kind of deep, or at least sad. She’s found herself in a toxic relationship. Her voice is very nice on this track and it’s just really great overall.
That's More Like It: Kind of corny and cliche. Lots of autotune. The lyrics are very basic and materialistic. It’s fabulous, though. Maybe she shouldn’t have included it on this record, but she did and I accept it.
Outlaw: Can you believe she didn’t sing this on tour? I can’t. I will never get over it. It’s a very good and cool song. Trust me.
Middle of Nowhere: This is my favorite song I think. Off of the album. It’s really catchy and, again, kind of sad. Miss Selena is good at that.
Final Ranking:
Middle of Nowhere
My Dilemma
Whiplash
Love You Like A Love Song
Outlaw
Who Says
Bang Bang Bang
We Own The Night

This is one of my most favorite albums. Nostalgia definitely comes into play here, but also I just think it’s a good pop album. It wasn’t focused on a lot because at the time she was still a Disney girl, but this is a solid album. I’m giving it a 9.23/10. bye
