I love The Killers and this has been getting good reviews I think.
West Hills: Great storytelling but I’m not sold on the pacing. It seems a little weird to me. Not bad, though.
Quiet Town: I really liked the story of this song. How tragedies are conflicting with the quaintness of this town. It’s really beautiful.
Terrible Thing: This song is so sad but so pretty. About a gay kid who’s contemplating suicide.
Cody: About a crazy kid named Cody. I really like the tune of this song.
Sleepwalker: I liked the tune of this song but that’s it. I didn’t really care about it very much. It was fine.
Runaway Horses (feat. Phoebe Bridgers): About going your separate ways. Makes me sad. It’s very pretty.
In The Car Outside: I really like this song. The husband isn’t understanding his wife’s mental health issues. He’s trying to deal with this relationship. It’s a lot. Very upbeat, though.
In Another Life: This song is such a bummer but it’s so upbeat. I think it’s great.
Desperate Things: Murder song! It’s cute honestly. It’s a little slow, but I like the story.
Pressure Machine: Maybe the prettiest song ever. I don’t know. Maybe. The instrumental outro is everything. It’s a very sentimental song that could definitely make you cry if you were already feeling a little unstable. His voice is so beautiful on this track too. It’s great.
The Getting By: This was nice. It totally gives the vibe of the whole album. Small town. I liked it.
Final Ranking:
Cody
In Another Life
In The Car Outside
Quiet Town
Desperate Things
Pressure Machine
Terrible Thing
Runaway Horses
The Getting By
West Hills
Sleepwalker
I really liked the theme of this album. It felt so real and genuine. I think the talking bits at the beginning of songs really helped seal the deal. It gets a 7/10. bye
