Manic by Halsey Review

Updated: Jan 22, 2021

This is Halsey’s newest album currently. I listened to it when it came out and picked out a few songs that I liked. I have not listened to it again. Let’s get into it.

Ashley: This song is interesting. Lots of lyrics. She sounds good on the chorus. It’s a good intro track.

clementine: I like this song. I like the chorus a lot. It sounds like how I feel sometimes. Like screaming and going crazy. But also chill.

Graveyard: This is a good song. It’s pretty. The lyrics are good and kind of sad. And it’s really catchy. Also I like the tempo of it. It’s very quick.

You should be sad: The lyrics of this song are good but the actual song is boring to me. I don’t want to hear it that often, but it’s not bad.

Forever...(is a long time): I don’t care about the beginning of this song. It’s forgettable. But omg. Halfway through we get a piano moment and then she gets all crazy. Very fun.

Dominic's Interlude: This is actually good. I completely forgot. It’s very catchy. I don’t know what’s happening, but it’s okay.

I HATE EVERYBODY: The lyrics are really interesting. They make sense. But the song itself isn’t that special to me.

3am: This song goes hard. It doesn’t really feel like it belongs. Sounds a little bit like a P!nk song. It’s good, though.

Without Me: At first I thought this song was it, but I got so tired of it. The lyrics are good, but honestly people need to chill on them. There are better lyrics on this album than there are on this one song. I also don’t love the chorus. I think it’s not the best. It’s still a decent song.

Finally//beautiful stranger: This is a beautiful song. Her voice is so deep and pretty. It makes me feel kind of warm. It’s nice to have an actual happy love song on this album.

Alanis' Interlude: I’m here for the lyrics. I prefer Halsey’s part over Alanis’ tbh. Alanis’ part sounds cool, but I also get a cheesy vibe. Hard to explain. It sounds like it’s trying to be too deep.

killing boys: I really like the tune of this song. One time it was stuck in my head and I couldn’t figure it out for so long. It’s not the most interesting song, though.

SUGA's Interlude: The SUGA/BTS moment didn’t do it for me. It felt weird.

More: This song is very sad. I didn’t realize what it was about at first. It’s very good.

Still Learning: This is a very basic song concept. I don’t love it. Love myself songs usually don’t do it for me. The lyrics also aren’t that deep.

929: I think this song has a really cute intro. And the lyrics are very interesting. It’s a good song.

SUGA’s Interlude

She pretty much avoided all cringe on this album. It was actually very good. I could’ve done without some of the interludes, but they weren’t awful. The album also seemed a little incohesive at times, but I’m not really that smart about music so I won’t get into it. It’s getting a 6.63/10. The lyrics are pretty impressive. Even when I’m not into the song I am into the story. bye
