K-12 by Melanie Martinez Review

I was a fan of Miss Melanie’s first album, but I kind of forgot about her. I’m excited to give this a full listen. I know a few songs off the album, but not a lot. Let’s get into it.

Wheels On the Bus: I absolutely hate how it samples the actual song. It’d be weird if she didn’t, but I hate it. Besides that I really like the song. I like the lyrics. She sounds good. She has a good voice.

Class Fight: I like this song a lot. The story is interesting. Good lyrics.

The Principal: It fades right into this song. That’s very fun. I really like this song a lot. The first verse is a little bad, but the rest is very good. Very catchy.

Show & Tell: This song is also good. I am pleasantly surprised so far. The lyrics are really good. She’s pretty upset.

Nurse's Office: This chorus goes hard. I am not a fan of this bridge at all. The gluggling sounds were terrible. But the chorus is so catchy I think I will forgive.

Drama Club: Dude I didn’t know this song was so good. The production is really good. Very catchy. Very cool. It feels very different from the other songs.

Strawberry Shortcake: This song is fine. Good message. It was pretty obvious. I feel very neutral about this song.

Lunchbox Friends: Too much auto tune for me. Cool concept. Not my type of execution.

Orange Juice: I am annoyed with this song. I don’t like the flow. It’s too nice. I’m not into pick me up songs. It’s a good message but I don’t want to listen to it.

Detention: I like the lyrics. Not sold on the verses. They don’t feel right to me. This song’s not bad, though.

Teacher's Pet: This song is very good. Catchy. Fabulous production. Golden.

High School Sweethearts: This song was fun. Interesting for sure. Maybe I would like it more if it was a little shorter.

Recess: This song was really good. I’m happy with it. I like how she incorporated recess into it. Smart.

Pretty decent album. Sometimes the flow didn’t work. I thought some metaphors were forced. Overall pretty good though. Solid production. Idk. It gets a 7.23/10. bye
