When We Were Friends by The Backseat Lovers Review

This is another Tubs recommendation. Here we go.

Watch Your Mouth: Pretty guitar in the beginning. I love that. Also sidenote, I looked at the credits and I really did think Elton John wrote this for a minute. Man that threw me off. Anyways, I like this song. The lyrics were solid and the guitar was good too. I’m not a long instrumental outro type of gal. It’s not a bad outro, I just have things to do and don’t really have the time.

Pool House: This guy has a pretty good voice. I’m feeling this song. It gets heavier as it continues and I’m here for it. This song sparked something in me and I’ve now redownloaded Pokemon Go after 4 years.

Intuition: I’m really having a time with what I believe is the chorus. His voice is so good but also really familiar and I’m trying to figure out what band they remind me of. These songs will definitely get another listen to so I can really analyze these lyrics. Also life is slipping through my fingers.

Kilby Girl: Damn, I thought this said Kirby and I was so excited. Kirby is so fucking cool. This song is cool too, though. I like it. It’s very fun. I’m just picturing that he’s singing about girl Kirby. Pretty fucking long outro I have to say. It’s good but I just don’t have the time right now. I know I’ll appreciate it in the summer when I’m just listening to music and drinking water or something idk. SHIT I LOVE HARMONICA. My instruments are like: saxophone (delicately), harmonica, jazz piano, horns in general.

Dugout: I already know I cannot listen to this song in the car because it has sirens in it. If it catches me off guard, which it will, I may crash. One time I was listening to California Girls and there’s a car honk in the second verse and I got so freaked out. So that’s also off the playlist. I like this song but it’s not my favorite. I’m also starting to think that these guys just run out of lyrics so they just play some more guitar or something.

Davy Crochet: Davy is the guy who wore the raccoon on his head. It’d be nice if someone sang about that for once. I do actually like this song though.

Maple Syrup: This is fun. Interesting. A good story. Love that in a song. 53 seconds outro it’s okay.

Olivia: Haven’t gotten to this song yet, but I hope it’s a One Direction cover. Just arrived at the song, it is not a cover :(. A very obvious pattern for me is that I like all these songs. By that I mean, I don’t hate any of them, so far. They’re all pretty and good quality. I don’t feel strongly about any of them but honestly that’s okay. This whole album will be added to my playlist because it’s good. Unless this next song it shit.

Sinking Ship: The lyrics in this one were strong man. They really got to me. Good song. Solid album. Very nice.
