Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not by Arctic Monkeys Review

Updated: Jan 22, 2021

Arctic Monkeys debut album. I am not familiar. I know two songs.

The View from the Afternoon: The lyrics were interesting and fun. The music was good too. I didn’t think the tune was the best. Not very special.

I Bet You Look Good on the Dancefloor: This song was fun too. Still not my most favorite tune, but I liked it better than the last one.

Fake Tales of San Francisco: This song was kind of it. I loved the storytelling and imagery. It just got better as it went on. I loved the outro.

Dancing Shoes: I don’t know about this song. It wasn’t bad, but I didn’t feel anything.

You Probably Couldn't See for the Lights but You Were Staring Straight at Me: This was such a fun and short song. I had a great time.

Still Take You Home: This was such a good song. It was so good. That’s all I can really say.

Riot Van: This is nice. It’s very relaxed.

Red Light Indicates Doors Are Secured: There was a lot in this song. I don’t know about it. Lot’s a british slang or whatever.

Mardy Bum: This song is so cute and nice. Great lyrics. And the guitar is very nice too.

Perhaps Vampires Is a Bit Strong But...: This song was okay. Not the most interesting sounding one. I think the point is cool but also not very impactful on me. Also a very long instrumental that I had to deal with. You know how I am.

When the Sun Goes Down: This is such a good song. I love how it’s about pimps and prostitutes. I don’t know, I just like that. It’s a really good song.

From the Ritz to the Rubble: Fun subject matter. I don’t really like the chorus. The verses are alright. Yeah

A Certain Romance: The guitar in this song is my favorite thing ever. I really like the lyrics too. It’s just a very nice listen. I don’t even mind the long instrumental outro because it’s just that nice.

Final Ranking:

This album was pretty decent. I was scared at first because the first few songs didn’t really do it for me. They just had a bad tune. But then it got good so I was happy. It gets a 7.35/10. bye
