I know quite a few twenty one pilots songs. I’ve even seen them in concert at Lollapalooza. They were very good. Also the one guy is married to Debby Ryan. Special. I’ve never listened to a full album by them. My good friend Jenn requested I listen to this one, so I will. Let’s get into it.
Ode To Sleep: I remember this song. I’ve heard it before. It is a trip, but I like it. The music in it is good. And I like how much it changes up. It’s exciting. My least part is the rapping, but it’s honestly not that bad. I enjoy this song.
Holding On To You: I also know this song! And I like it! It’s a good and happy sounding song.
Migraine: At first I didn’t care about this song, but that bridge was very good. And it ended very strongly. I think I like this song after all.
House of Gold: This song haunts me because Jenn used it as her alarm the whole time we were in Iowa together. It’s a good song. It just haunts me.
Car Radio: I appreciate this song. The lyrics are very good. I just don’t think it will be my favorite. I’ve heard it before and it just never really clicked for me. Respect it, though.
Semi-Automatic: I’m liking these lyrics. I’m a sucker for when people say they like it when they make you cry. I understand that that is a flaw of mine. The music in this song is very familiar. I don’t know if I’ve heard this song before or what.
Screen: I really like the chorus of this song. I also like the bridge. This is a pretty solid song. I decided right now that I liked it a lot.
The Run and Go: There are parts of this song I like a lot, and there are parts that I really don’t. I don’t like the “do do do do.” Not for me. The other parts are pretty good, though. Very solid ending. He really can scream. Sounding like he’s in a 2005 emo band.
Fake You Out: This song was interesting. I really liked the music mostly. It got better as it went on.
Guns For Hands: I was really into the lyrics on this one. Good lyrics. Good writing. Also that change up. Nice.
Trees: This really does feel very 2012 in a good way. 2012 was nice. This is a good song. I keep saying that. I really vibed with this one.
Truce: Last song! This was a very pretty song. I liked it. Very nice. Great closing song. And the piano. Good.
Final Ranking:
Holding On To You
Ode to Sleep
Truce
Screen
Trees
Semi-Automatic
Migraine

I think the best thing here is Tyler Joseph’s songwriting ability. The lyrics on this album are very good and unique. I liked most of these songs. I don’t know if I’d go back to the album as a whole because it’s not really my sound, but hearing these songs here and there will definitely work for me. I think he has a good voice and the topics he sings about are interesting. I’m giving this album a 7/10. It’s pretty good. bye
