star-crossed by Kacey Musgraves Review

I think Kacey is so cool and talented and I can’t wait to hear all about her divorce.

star-crossed: She really killed it setting the scene. This is such a good album opener. I’m ready for it.

good wife: This is making me sad, but the music is so cool. I feel like I’m a cool cowboy. Isn’t that fun?

cherry blossom: I don’t even know if this counts as country music. It’s so pop. It’s really fun. And chill.

simple times: This song really hits hard in the context of her divorce. I want to hug her. I love her. This song rocks.

if this was a movie..: I don’t really like the pacing of this song, but the production is coming through. It’s really cool. The Taylor Swift song is better, though.

justified: I like that she admits some responsibility in the bridge. This song is really good.

angel: She’s hardcore blaming herself on this track. Sad, but this song is really beautiful.

breadwinner: He was insecure. Classic. I think this song is pretty basic. It doesn’t blow me away, but it’s fun.

camera roll: This song is making me sad. The outro is gonna make me ugly cry. It really makes the song.

easier said: I like the lyrics a lot on this track. I don’t love the melody. I’m a little bored with it. The production is swag though.

hookup scene: No thank you, I'm gonna sob. She sounds like an angel right now. And this song is just so sad.

keep lookin’ up: I love the guitar on this track. Feels very folksy. It’s simple, but it really works.

what doesn’t kill me: This is catchy. I like the change in attitude. She’s all powerful now. Thank god.

there is a light: Nothing could have prepared me for this instrumental. Shout out Jim Hoke on the flute. That gave me whiplash. I’m literally obsessed with the good vibes in this song.

gracias a la vida: Ok spanish. This is a cover. Kacey can seriously do it all. This song was very pretty, but the ending was a little jarring. I won’t lie. I got nervous.

This album was really fabulous. I hope she gets the recognition she deserves for this. The production was amazing and the way she expressed her feelings throughout was so genius. No bad tracks. It gets a 7.47/10. bye
