It’s been 4 years. Let’s party.
The Path: This song is so good. It’s really pretty and catchy. Stays in my head. It’s a good opener.
Solar Power: At first I wasn’t a fan, but it grew on me. I like that she says she’s a prettier Jesus. I would say the same about myself. And the ending is really solid. My dad likes this song.
California: She’s saying goodbye to California life. This song is so pretty.
Stoned at the Nail Salon: This song makes me emo. It really fits with the situation I am in right now. The Lorde always knows.
Fallen Fruit: This song is so cool. The instrumentation is so sick. And when she comes back in with the Nissan line. I don’t know. I love it.
Secrets from a Girl (Who's Seen it All): This song makes me happy. Makes me feel like the Lorde is looking out for me. Appreciate it.
The Man with the Axe: This song is so sweet. And very personal. I’m so into it. I wish she sang some parts differently but that’s okay.
Dominoes: That was cute. And kind of sad. I liked it. She sounds a little bitter.
Big Star: So sad. Her dog died. She sounds really torn up about it.
Leader of a New Regime: I was bored with this one. Not gonna lie.
Mood Ring: This song is so pretty. And I like the lyrics. It’s a fun song.
Oceanic Feeling: The strings in this song make me think of Lana’s Chemtrails Over the Country Club record. This song is cool because it’s long and I like the lyrics. Makes you feel like reflecting. It’s a good closing track for sure.
Final Ranking:
The Path
Mood Ring
California
Dominoes
Fallen Fruit
Stoned at the Nail Salon
Secrets from a Girl (Who’s Seen it All)
The Man with the Axe
Solar Power
Big Star
Oceanic Feeling
Leader of a New Regime
I think I like this album as a whole more than I like the individual tracks. I see what she was going for, and I think she achieved it. There really isn’t a bad track. It’s just not as wild and crazy as the last record. And that’s okay. It gets an 8.67/10. bye
