Cheap Queen by King Princess Review

Updated: Jun 1, 2022

Miss King!! I love her. She’s the best person.

Tough On Myself: The vibe of this song is really cool. Miss King’s voice is so pretty on this record, especially since she’s in her lower range. When she strains her voice to sing “Is it so wrong to just want someone else?” I melt. Like it’s so pretty. The guitar in this song is also so fucking cool. This is a solid album opener.

Useless Phrases: The intro to this song smacks. I want a 5 minute version of just this instrumental. Along with that I would appreciate a full version of the song with lyrics. It is far too short. I could listen to it all day.

Cheap Queen: This song is obviously iconic. I really like the lyrics in this song, but sonically it’s not my favorite. It’s not very pretty. And the chorus is also somewhat repetitive. This song does get the job done, especially as an album opener. It paints a great picture of Miss King. So yeah.

Ain't Together: THIS SONG BRUH. This is so pretty. It is everything Cheap Queen the song isn’t. Slow, beautiful, tender. This song makes you want more to the story. It makes you want a happy ending so bad. The pre chorus is just so beautiful and the way it transitions to the chorus is perfect. This song makes me want to sway side to side on a hot summer’s day with someone I love.

Do You Wanna See Me Crying?: I used to not like this song. I did her so dirty. I disrespected her name. I am so sorry miss. This song is kind of it. I love the lyrics and it’s very interesting.

Homegirl: Homegirl is here to save us from whatever disaster Do You Wanna See Me Crying? brought. This song paints such a good picture in my mind. It’s like I can see the plot of this song going down right in front of me. This is a pretty and sexy song. It’s so important. The kind of creepy music in the background does so much for this already amazing song. I just love it so much.

Prophet: Prophet is that bitch. It’s borderline rocknroll. The verses are insanely cool and then the switch up during the chorus just sends me. I cannot handle this song. Those fucking bells or whatever during the chorus?? WTF is that?? I love them. Can’t say the bridge is my favorite but it’s fine because Prophet is a powerful bitch.

Isabel's Moment: This song is forgettable. But it turns out it's really pretty. I just don’t ever listen to it. The outro is pretty sick though.

Trust Nobody: I really like this song. The rhythm is it. I cannot wait to sing this song with Miss King.

Watching My Phone: This song is pretty tragic lyrically. It’s another pretty song by Miss King. Her voice is so pretty leading up to the chorus.

You Destroyed My Heart: One of my favorites because the lyrics are so blunt. And empowering.

Hit the Back: This is such a good dance song. The lyrics are risky. I love it. I do get bored of it because she doesn’t really use her voice as much in this song. Still iconic though.

If You Think It's Love: Another pretty song, but I get bored. It’s personal, what can I say?

Back of a Cab: I love love love the saxophone in this song. Actually, I just fuck with the whole vibe of this song. And the lyrics are so good. They paint such a vivid picture. I can imagine the music video for this. I can’t believe this is a fucking deluxe track because to me this could be a single.

All Dressed In White: Her vocals in this are unforgettable. And this song is so romantic. It is just such a pretty song I can’t believe it exists. I wish this song lasted forever.

Forget About It: This song is so good, too. It’s a good dancing song. The chorus goes hard. I have no idea who Banoffee is but the song is good, so happy for them. This song is so powerful I can’t believe it.

Best Friend: Again, her vocals in this song are so beautiful. And the lyrics tell such a good story. Makes me feel like I can relate even though I can’t relate. But the best song is the end. The outro is probably the most beautiful she sounds on the whole record. I love it so much.

Ohio: If I hadn’t seen this song live first I’m not sure I would like it as much as I do. It also helps that I live in Ohio so I feel special. This song is unlike anything else she has released. It’s straight up rock. It sounds like it could be from the early 90s. Concrete Blonde vibes but a different voice obviously. This song is really good. I wish it had more lyrics because it does become pretty repetitive towards the end of the track. Love that it is the last track, though. It’s a great closer.

This album was actually very good. It’s safe to say she has talent. It’s not my most favorite album of all time, but it leaves me with high hopes for her future projects. It gets a 8.69/10 because all her deluxe tracks hit. bye
