Initial Thoughts: I don’t know much about Solange. She’s Beyonce’s sister. She attacked Jay Z in an elevator. She was on an episode of Yo Gabba Gabba and her song popped off. I hope I like this album because I feel like everyone does. Let’s get into it.
Rise: This song is so pretty. I like it a lot. Good song.
Weary: Her voice is so pretty you guys. It’s angelic. How she layers them. So good. This song is good.
Interlude: The Glory Is in You: This is a nice interlude. Spoken word. Leads right into Cranes. Nicely done.
Cranes In The Sky: This song is amazing. Her vocals are perfect. Everything about this is perfect.
Interlude: Dad Was Mad: This is really interesting. I liked it.
Mad (feat. Lil Wayne): I really like the lyrics to this song. Especially Lil Wayne’s parts. They were really interesting and sounded really good. Fit into the song great.
Don't You Wait: I don’t really like the chorus of this song. That’s the only part I don’t like. The other parts are good and so are the lyrics. Chorus just not for me.
Interlude: Tina Taught Me: Fades right into this. These interludes are so interesting and add a lot to the album so far.
Don't Touch My Hair (feat. Sampha): Again, the lyrics are great but I didn’t vibe with it sonically. I do like the outro.
Interlude: This Moment: I love how the music continues into this. It’s so cool how this album flows.
Where Do We Go: Absolutely love the music in this song. I don’t like the hey’oh’s but the other parts of the song are good.
Interlude: For Us By Us: Very nice.
F.U.B.U. (feat. The-Dream & BJ the Chicago Kid): This song was so smart and really good. She was like you can’t sing along. She’s right. I thought it had such a good message.
Borderline (An Ode to Self Care) (feat. Q-Tip): This song is alright. I don’t think it’s the most interesting song, but her voice is pretty.
Interlude: I Got So Much Magic, You Can Have It (feat. Kelly Rowland & Nia Andrews): This interlude wsa fun. They were singing.
Junie: Fades right into this song. I love the piano in this song. This song is so much fun. I love the “jump on it” part. It’s so cool.
Interlude: No Limits: Nice.
Don't Wish Me Well: Her voice is so good in this song. I also really like the background music. It’s very simple but it sets the mood.
Interlude: Pedestals: This was good too. I liked the piano.
Scales (feat. Kelela): This was a cool song. I liked the lyrics a lot.
Closing: The Chosen One: Fun horns on this one. Nice closing.
